Research Projects

Lafleche is currently financing studies to expand the boundaries of environmental science and practice. It is our hope that with the experience and knowledge gained from these studies, the students involved will become the scientific, industrial and community leaders of tomorrow. Our commitment to supporting research allows students’ access to an “extension of their lab” and the opportunity to experiment in “real life” conditions.

Lafleche promotes research study projects in collaboration with the University of Ottawa through the development of our Center of Excellence. Research projects include:

• Algae Analysis and Strategy for BioFuel
• Bioremediation of Contaminated Soils
• Feedstock and Bulking Agents Analysis for Compost
• Optimization of the balance between MSW compaction, density and leachate recirculation rate, in a pilot scale Smart BioReactor.
• Methane Oxidation in Landfill Cover
• Modeling and Analysis of Leachate Characteristics
