Lafleche attaches great importance to long term solutions, applying new technologies that can support our waste disposal and sustainability goals and enhance overall productivity.
Computer Aided Earthmoving System
Lafleche has recently purchased and installed a Computer Aided Earthmoving System (CAES) in our landfill compactors. The CAES enables the compactor operators to have real-time grade/slope and compaction information and gives the operators access to electronic engineered design plans. The system ensures proper waste placement and optimum compaction which ultimately minimizes airspace consumption.
Solar Energy System
A Menova Energy Inc. Power Spar® solar system has been installed at Lafleche. The system captures solar energy and converts it to a form of thermal energy which heats a water reservoir of 800 gallons. The heated water circulates in conduits under the flooring of our main office and serves as the primary source of heat in our office.
Compost Control System
A complete computer controlled monitoring system has been developed for our compost facility. The system constantly measures and monitors temperatures and gases. This system enables the operator to adjust different engineered components (such as ventilation) to optimize the compost process, compost quality, minimize health risks and ensure compliance with CofA conditions.
Pall Filtration System
The state-of-the-art Pall® filter system is an external pressurized, skid-mounted, hollow fibre microfiltration system which provides tertiary filtration of treated leachate at our onsite waste water treatment plant. The system has integrated pressure hold testing, chemical cleaning and reverse-flow cleaning built into it, and is provided with stand-alone PLC for control and monitoring
System features include:
